American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled the issue of sexuality and race with an incisive and humorous perspective, before broadening her presence to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. Additionally, she was given instruction in jazz and classical before exploring hip-hop in her teenager. When she was in college, she was focusing on her studies, majoring in women's journalism and the arts. While spending a few days that was spent in Beijing She also studied Mandarin. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she graduated. The song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet during 2012. The track was later included in the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. This song is directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. After she established herself as a singer and author, she chose to assume the character of an actor. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came during the year 2018, appearing in a handful of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out,"In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
